Hidden billing settings change where you look
Once a downgrade from Starter or Business to Free is complete, Miro hides the billing settings. For older invoices, it recommends finding the original billing emails from Stripe, Miro’s payment provider. A missing Billing menu does not, by itself, mean that a document was never issued.
A scheduled plan change is different from a completed move to Free. If the team is still within its paid period and billing is available, an administrator with the necessary permissions can download documents from the settings. After the move, start with saved copies and older emails. You do not need to begin your search for an old invoice by renewing the subscription.

Find the team that paid and its billing contact
Establish which formerly paid team the document belongs to. Being able to see the team’s boards does not mean you can open its billing settings. Billing messages go to the designated billing address, which may differ from the mailbox you use to sign in. Ask the person who managed the subscription to check who originally received those messages.
For Starter and Business, Team Admins, Company Admins or Billing Admins can access billing according to their role. If billing is available in the paid team and you have the necessary permissions, go through your profile → Admin console → Billing → Invoices, then select Download beside the document. These labels come from the English help page. If you are an ordinary team member, ask an administrator for a copy.

An email can contain an invoice and a separate receipt
In the original billing mailbox, search separately for “Miro” and “Stripe”, then narrow the search by payment date or period. Check the archive and spam too; if you cannot find the message, check any other billing address used at the time. The bank transaction’s date and amount can help identify the payment, but the transaction does not replace the issued document.
For card payments, Miro describes two options in the billing email: Download invoice retrieves the invoice, and Download receipt retrieves the payment receipt. If the subscription was paid by invoice, the first email contains Download invoice; a second email with the receipt follows after payment. Do not automatically relabel a receipt you find as an invoice.
Download the original document offered in the relevant email and open the saved file. Check its document type, number, amount and connection to the subscription you are looking for. Save the second document too if you need it and it is available. Do not keep the email link as your accountant’s only record.

Hypothetical example: August records after the workshops end
In October, Ondřej is gathering August records for a team that has already moved from Starter to Free. In this fictional example, he previously organised workshops, but Nela managed the subscription and billing emails went to the company’s billing address. Ondřej can see the boards, but the old billing menu is gone. He asks Nela for the documents relating to the payment on 10 August 2026.
Nela finds the card-payment message in the billing mailbox and downloads both the invoice and the receipt. Ondřej opens the files, checks the date and amount, and gives them to the accountant as an invoice and a payment receipt.
When the email is missing or the link does not work
Ask the former administrator or billing contact to check the old mailbox and any copies already saved. Describe the broken link along with the period and payment details; do not send a password or a full card number. Also explain whether you have no document at all or are missing the invoice for a receipt you have found.
If no one in the company can find the document, check the official support page for the contact options available to you. Miro offers standard support through a form to members of paid teams; Free does not include it. For Starter and Business billing questions, Miro lists the email address on the invoice or a support request. It directs Enterprise customers to their Miro account team. If you have another original invoice with a contact email address, pass that address to the person who managed the subscription. Even with an available contact, the missing document may not be retrievable.

Give your accountant the document you actually have
Name the files, for example, “Miro – August 2026 – invoice” and “Miro – August 2026 – payment receipt”. Follow the document’s actual date and contents. If you only have a receipt and are still looking for the invoice, include that information rather than saying the records are complete.
For any further search, note the team involved at the time, the recipient of the billing messages and the location of the saved files. Your accountant will then have usable copies and a clear explanation of anything still missing.
