Where to download the invoice
Invoices available in a paid Proton account are in the web settings on a computer. According to Proton’s official guide, invoice management is unavailable in the iOS and Android apps.
Proton account: account.proton.me →
- Sign in at account.proton.me to the account whose invoice you need.
- Open the account settings and select Subscription.
- Find Invoices and open the Action menu for the invoice you need.
- Select Download to save the PDF. Use View for a preview.

If you already have Proton Mail open on your computer, the account-settings guide gives Settings → All settings as the route to its web settings. Continue to Subscription. These English labels match Proton’s documentation; your interface may use different labels in another language.
This guide covers invoices actually available in that account. It does not automatically apply to every Proton purchase, regardless of how the subscription was bought.
Open the PDF before sending it
Proton says the downloaded invoice shows its status, period, plan and cost. Use those details to check that you have the document the recipient needs. An invoice appearing in the list does not, by itself, confirm payment.
- Period: does it cover the dates you need? Don’t automatically choose the most recent entry.
- Plan and amount: does the PDF relate to the subscription you need? If there were several purchases, check which one it belongs to.
- Status: read the detail on the document. If the recipient needs to know whether it was paid, don’t present the existence of a PDF as proof of payment.

Hypothetical example: a colleague asks for a particular period, but you download the latest invoice. If the PDF shows another period, return to Invoices and find the matching entry. Renaming the file won’t correct its contents.
When you don’t have the invoice
First check that you’re signed in on a computer to the account associated with the subscription. If you lack access, ask the person who is already authorised to use the account and handles the subscription for the document. Getting one invoice does not require asking for the whole mailbox or a shared password.
You can use this message to request it. Fill in the details in square brackets:

If the authorised person cannot find the invoice in the account either, the next step depends on the purchase channel and is outside this guide’s scope. Use Proton’s official guide or support for further help; don’t replace the missing invoice with your own transcription of its details.
Share only the relevant document
Send the original downloaded PDF and briefly state the subscription and period in your message. There is no need to attach mailbox contents or screenshots of other invoices. If the period, amount or status differs from the request, first clarify which document the recipient needs.
This guide is based on public Proton documentation checked on 13 October 2026. It is not a test in a signed-in account or an assessment of the document’s suitability for tax purposes.
