First check the account and billing version

You need the document for your own Harvest subscription, rather than an invoice issued to your customer. Start in the subscription settings.

An account Administrator opens Settings → Billing and checks Current plan for the v1 or v2 label. Check the specific account you need the document for: different accounts can use different versions. The following steps apply to v2. For v1, use the matching help linked from Harvest’s billing-version overview.

Download the PDF in v2

According to Harvest’s subscription-document guide, an Administrator can download the PDF as follows:

  1. Open Settings in the top right and go to Billing.
  2. Under Payment method, click Billing history.
  3. For the relevant payment, select View invoice / receipt.
  4. On the next page, choose Download invoice or Download receipt, depending on which document you need.

An invoice requests payment; a receipt records payment received. Do not treat an invoice alone as proof of payment. For card-paid subscriptions, Harvest sends the receipt to the Account Owner and any other configured recipients. Distinguish the email recipient from an Administrator: the download route above requires the Administrator role.

If the history or document is missing

Billing history becomes available only after the first invoice or receipt has been generated. If you cannot see the link, your search may not be at fault. First ask an Administrator to check the billing version and whether the first document has been generated. The same Harvest guide describes this limit.

If you cannot check this yourself, ask an existing Administrator for the specific PDF. You do not need their password to obtain one document. If the document is still missing after checking the account, version and history, tell Harvest support which document you need and where the search stops. Do not send login credentials.

A message you can adapt for the administrator

Fill in the brackets with your subscription details. Keep only the documents you actually need:

Select the text, copy it into an email and fill in the details in square brackets.

Open the downloaded file before handing it over

We recommend comparing the customer details, period and amount with the records you are completing. Do not rely on the attachment’s filename alone. If a detail is missing or does not match, identify the specific difference and ask the administrator about it; do not add missing details to the original yourself.

The search should produce the relevant original PDF or a precise explanation of what prevents you from obtaining it. Keep the distinction between an invoice and a receipt when handing it over. This helps the recipient check whether they received the document they requested.

This guide is based on public Harvest help checked on 13 October 2026. We did not access a specific account or verify that its documents exist.
