Start with the workspace you pay for

Look for your paid Clockify subscription document in the subscription settings of the relevant workspace. Have its name and the period you need ready. If you only have a payment record, note its date and amount so you can compare them with the document you find.

Clockify’s help says workspace owners or administrators manage subscriptions. If someone else buys the subscription for your team, ask them to download the document; there is a message you can adapt below. Access to time tracking alone does not mean you can also see billing.

Go through Subscription to CAKE.com

Follow the route in Clockify’s official guide. We keep the English menu labels used in that guide:

  1. In Clockify, open the menu under the relevant workspace’s name and select Subscription.
  2. After being redirected to your CAKE.com account, open the Invoices tab.
  3. Find the billing record you need in the history and download the invoice for the requested period.

The help says Invoices contains past invoices and billing statements. The redirect to CAKE.com is part of this route. Whether a particular document is available depends on your account and the period you need; the guide does not establish that it exists or that you can access it.

An invoice for your client is a different document

Clockify also lets you create client invoices from billable time and expenses. Those invoices can be downloaded as PDFs and accompanied by time reports. They describe work you charge your client for; they are not documents for your purchase of a Clockify subscription.

If you are preparing an invoice from worked hours or attaching a time report, you are in the client-invoicing workflow. For the subscription document, return to the workspace menu → Subscription → CAKE.com → Invoices. The help specifies PDF for client invoices; this does not confirm the format of subscription documents.

If the document is missing, send a specific request

If you cannot see Subscription or the required history entry, contact whoever buys or manages the subscription. Ask them to check the correct workspace and period. A missing document is no reason to ask for their password or change the plan.

Replace the brackets in this message with your details. Include the payment date and amount only if you know them:

Select the text, copy it into an email and fill in the details in square brackets.

Check the downloaded original before handing it over

We recommend comparing the buyer, period and amount in the downloaded document with the records you are completing. The filename is not enough. If a detail is missing or does not match, describe the specific difference to the administrator and ask them to locate the right document; do not edit the original to make it fit.

If you cannot obtain the document, explain what remains unresolved and who you are waiting for when you hand over the records. For example, say that you are waiting for the administrator to send it or check a missing period in the history. Do not substitute a client invoice or a time report for the subscription document.

This guide is based on Clockify’s public help, checked on 13 October 2026. We have not tested access to a particular account, its interface or the existence of the requested document.
