IONOS documents two ways to download invoices. The individual list provides PDFs from the last two years. It excludes invoices for terminated contracts; according to the help page, these are included in the ZIP for the relevant calendar year. For a contract you have already ended, use the annual archive even if the invoice is fairly recent.
Start with the account, contract and period
Before selecting a year, note which customer account and contract the missing document belongs to. Use information you already have: the contract number, a known invoice number or the period for which documents are missing. These details help you identify the right PDF and explain your request to support.
The archive follows the calendar year of the invoices, not the year you ended the contract. For example, for an invoice issued in 2025 under a contract ended in 2026, start with the 2025 archive. This is an illustrative example of choosing a year, not a real customer account.
If you cannot access the account, ask the currently authorised person who handles IONOS billing in your organisation to download the archive. The instructions below require account access; they do not cover recovering lost access.
Where to download invoices for a calendar year
The steps below follow the English help page on ionos.com. We retain its English labels as reference points; your account may use different wording. We checked the public documentation, not a signed-in customer account.
- Sign in to your IONOS account. Open Menu at the top and select My account.
- Under Invoices & payment details, click View. Then select Go to invoice overview.
- In the invoice overview, select Invoices per calendar year. Some image captions in the help page call it Invoices by calendar year.
- Select the relevant calendar year and click Download invoices.
- Wait for the ZIP to be generated and download it. IONOS says preparation can exceptionally take a few minutes, depending on the number of invoices.

For the current year, the archive contains invoices available when you download it, rather than a completed package for the entire year. Being able to select a year is not a promise of unlimited access to old documents either.
Find the missing invoice, not just the expected file count
The downloaded ZIP is an archive containing documents. Extract it and open the PDFs that should correspond to the invoices you need. For extraction instructions on Windows or Mac, use the linked guide. Here, the key is to establish whether the annual package actually contains the invoice for the ended contract.
How to extract a ZIP of invoices and check the individual PDFs →
Compare the PDF with the known invoice or contract number, and check the period and customer details. Make sure every page is readable. Neither the ZIP filename nor the number of PDFs tells you whether you have found the particular missing invoice.
Do not automatically expect one invoice per month. Compare the archive with the specific documents or periods expected for that contract. If you have no such list, explain at handoff what you found and what you cannot yet confirm. IONOS explicitly recommends checking the annual ZIP for completeness after downloading it.

If the invoice is missing from the archive, contact support
If you have checked the right account and year but the invoice is absent from the extracted ZIP, IONOS recommends contacting Customer Support. You can now explain that you checked both the individual invoice list and the relevant annual archive.
Include the details you know and the result of your check. Do not invent an invoice number; describe the contract and period if you do not know it. The following template is an editorial aid, not an IONOS form or a guarantee of resolution.

Send your accountant the PDFs found and describe any remaining gap
Select the relevant original PDFs for the agreed handoff. Keep the downloaded archive too, so you can trace the package they came from. In your covering message, identify the account, contract and period. You do not automatically need to send every document for every contract in the annual ZIP.
If something is missing, distinguish the documents found from the unresolved request. For example: “Here are the IONOS invoices found for contract [number], covering [period]. I could not find invoice [missing period or known number], including in the annual archive, and asked support to locate it on [date].” Use the final clause only after actually sending the request.
The result is either the document you needed or a precise description of what remains missing. Downloading a ZIP or checking legibility does not itself establish an invoice's suitability for accounting or tax purposes.
