Console: distinguish purchase receipts from monthly invoices

In the relevant Console organisation, someone with Admin or Billing opens Settings → Billing → Invoice history. For an available document, they can use Download or View. Ask Anthropic support to locate an older document unavailable in the history.

Most API organisations buy credits in advance. Each such purchase generates a payment receipt, including purchases triggered by automatic top-ups. Do not assume there will be one monthly invoice for every month of API use.

Accounts with contractual billing arranged through the sales team may receive invoices for usage during a calendar month. Note whether you need a credit purchase receipt or an invoice for a period. A usage report or current credit balance does not replace the issued document.

Max or Team credits do not necessarily mean another payment

Some eligible Max and Team plans can grant monthly API credits to a linked Console organisation. A Claude subscription can therefore include API credits. When retrieving documents, still distinguish the subscription from that Console organisation’s history.

Granted credits can expire. An expiry entry does not itself mean a new purchase or charge. Usage beyond granted credits is covered by a purchased balance or Console billing, rather than by adding API usage to the Claude subscription.

For an unclear entry, ask specifically whether it represents a purchase, usage or expiry of granted credits. A purchase or applicable billing record is what leads you to seek a payment document.

What to write when a document is missing

This template is for someone with access to Console billing. Fill in the brackets; for a subscription, replace the Console organisation with the personal account or Team organisation and purchase channel.

“Please provide the original document for the API credit purchase in Console organisation [name] on [date; amount and currency if relevant]. I need the receipt for that purchase, not a usage report. If this was monthly billing, please provide the invoice for [period]. If the entry only records expired granted credits without a payment, please confirm its meaning instead of looking for a payment document.”

Once you receive the original, match the service, account or organisation, date or period and document type to your request. Add the file location to your working record; keep any specific outstanding request open. Do not send passwords or API keys.
