Before asking for access, identify the payment: date, amount, subscription and purchaser. A screenshot of a password manager does not document the subscription purchase. Sharing a vault to solve an accounting request exposes unrelated information without supplying the invoice.
Use the billing document route
Sign in on 1Password.com and open Billing, then Invoices. Select View Invoice for the matching invoice and choose Download or Email to me. The 1Password billing guide explains this route.
If Billing is missing from a family or team account, ask a family organiser, team owner or member of a group with Manage Billing permission. Upcoming invoice shows the next bill; for a past payment, choose the issued document in Invoices.
For future PDF invoices, an authorised person opens Billing → Invoices → Invoice Settings, adds the accountant’s email under Invoice Recipients and selects Save Settings. An invoice recipient need not belong to the 1Password account or receive vault access. This setting does not replace retrieving a previous invoice.
If the purchase was actually made through the App Store, find the transaction in Apple's purchase history using the account that made the purchase; you can search by amount. Then search that account's email for the exact phrases receipt from Apple or invoice from Apple, as Apple's instructions recommend. Match the item, amount and Apple Account on the document you find. A purchase-history list is not an invoice. If the document is missing, contact Apple Support with the identified payment; this step is not a refund request.
For a Google Play purchase, check the purchase-confirmation email sent to the account that paid. In Google Payments, open Activity and the matching transaction. If Download VAT invoice or Download VAT receipt is available for this purchase, follow Google's document-issuing conditions: supply the requested details and use the download link after Save. This option is not available for every purchase and region. Otherwise, locate the purchase confirmation or contact Google Play support with the order number, date and amount; do not promise your accountant an invoice you have not obtained.
If another person handles the purchase, ask for the specific invoice rather than account access:
Please send the 1Password invoice for [subscription and period], matching [payment date and amount]. The billing document is enough; I do not need a vault export, password or recovery information.
Check what you are about to send
Open the retrieved document and compare recipient, period, description and amount with the payment. Use the document itself for this comparison, not a filename remembered from last month.
Example: you use 1Password on an iPhone, but the payment confirmation shows a purchase directly from 1Password.com. In Billing → Invoices, choose the issued invoice with the matching period and amount and download its PDF. The iPhone alone is not a reason to look for an Apple document. Prepare that one file for handover, rather than a bank payment record or a folder containing a vault export. If the confirmation instead names the App Store or Google Play, use the corresponding route above. For a missing document, give the purchaser the specific date, amount and period.
Keep the handoff limited
Give the confirmed document a retrievable filename using the subscription, period and document number. Do not change its contents. Check whether you already have the same bill from email, then send one copy to the agreed accounting location.
The result should be a readable billing document for the right purchase. The recipient does not need access to passwords to use it.
