Start with the organisation, rather than a scenario run
According to Make’s official guide, invoices are available in the organisation’s Payments section. Start with the organisation whose service purchase you need to document. A scenario execution record describes an automation run; it does not replace the supplier’s invoice for the service.
Establish which period or payment you need the document for. If you work with several organisations or build automations for someone else, the name of an open scenario does not by itself confirm which organisation the payment belongs to. Check any uncertainty with the person who handles its billing.

The Make route: Org → My Plan → Payments → PDF
Once you know which organisation paid for the service, follow the procedure in Make’s documentation. We retain the English control labels used in the source:
- Click Org in the left sidebar.
- Under My Plan, open Payments.
- Click PDF next to the invoice you need. According to the documentation, your browser downloads the file automatically.

The documentation describes downloading past invoices this way. We have not tested the procedure in a private account, and the source does not specify a user role that guarantees access. If you cannot see Payments or find the invoice, use the request below to contact the person who normally handles the organisation’s billing.
Clicked PDF, but no document opened?
Make describes an automatic PDF download, which does not necessarily open another page. Check your computer’s Downloads folder or your browser’s downloads list. If you find the file, open it and confirm it is the invoice you need.
If you can see the invoice in Payments and have clicked PDF, start with your downloads. If the invoice is absent from Payments altogether, check the organisation and payment again and ask your billing contact for the original document. Searching your computer alone cannot resolve missing access.

Before handing it over, check which purchase the PDF belongs to
We recommend comparing the file with the purchase you are documenting. The aim is to pass on the correct invoice and clearly identify any uncertainty. The following checks are our handoff recommendations, rather than a list of mandatory fields on a Make invoice.
| What to compare, where available | What this establishes |
|---|---|
| Customer or account identification and its connection to the organisation | That the document belongs to the purchase you are looking for. |
| The stated period or date in relation to the known payment | That you are not handing over a document for a different payment or period. |
| Amount and currency | That the invoice matches the known purchase details. |
| Invoice number or other document identifier | Exactly which document you are handing over, if it includes an identifier. |
Do not guess missing details. If the connection to the payment is still unclear, record that uncertainty in your handoff note and ask your billing contact to check it. A matching service name alone does not complete the search for a particular invoice.
Missing access or an invoice? Send a specific request
Contact the person who normally handles billing for that organisation. Include the organisation, period or payment, known amount and currency, and what you have already checked. You need the original document; do not assume all organisation members have the same billing access.
Before sending, choose the relevant option, fill in only known details and remove unused brackets. If you are still checking the organisation, say so. A sent request is not an obtained invoice: keep the document on your missing list and note whom you asked and the next step.
Hand over the original PDF, or clearly mark the request as pending
Fictional example: a team needs a Make invoice for the imaginary organisation Studio Sever’s September payment. After downloading and checking it, the handoff note could read: ‘Make, Studio Sever — original PDF for the September payment attached, file [actual filename]. The customer, amount and currency match the details we checked.’ Use this wording only for checks you actually performed.
If the team does not yet have the invoice, the note should differ: ‘Make, Studio Sever — invoice for the September payment still missing. We have asked [billing contact’s name] for the original PDF. Next step: [person] will check the reply on [agreed day].’ This example does not describe a real customer or a successful account download.
The recipient can then identify the purchase and see what is still outstanding. Hand over the original invoice as a file and keep the explanation separate. If you have several requests, an obtained document closes only the purchase you have matched it to.
Source and scope
The invoice route and downloaded file location come from Make’s official guide ‘View and download invoices’, checked on 26 October 2026. The source lists an update date of 30 January 2026. This is a procedure based on public documentation; we did not inspect a private account or a particular invoice.
Matching the payment, the request template and handoff notes are editorial recommendations. The guide does not guarantee access for a particular user role or recovery of a missing document. It does not cover tax treatment or accounting acceptance in individual countries.
